Absentminded Melody

G it’s dusk as all the shadows fall C the sun is laid to rest G at night the city comes to life D C as the light dies in the west G here we stand as some local band C sets circles ’round the clock G smoke so thick you need a lighthouse D C so loud i can’t hear myself talk G someone whispered in my ear C "it’s not like it was before" G i don’t know what happened here D C i guess we just got bored G the good old days D well i suppose , i’m glad they’re behind us now G C the only thing worse than growing up G D G is never quite learning how G C G late at night we toss and we turn D lay awake ’til dawn G C G we close our eyes as the sun comes up we’re gone
