this song is originally from billy’s first Solo album , cold spring harbor , released november 1971 . a fantastic live version of this song is on songs in the attic , billy joel’s first live album , which was recorded in june - july 1980 during the glass houses tour and was released september 10 , 1981 . songs in the attic features songs from cold spring harbor in a better form , since billy’s first album was sped up in studio and he "sounded like a chipmunk . " he wasn’t happy with the sound of the album , so songs in the attic was a way to make it better and sound more raw and personal .
